Yes, we come to Korona, Favoretta and Dupont
The question we get from the south end of US 1 is always the same: do you really come this far? The answer is a short page.

The short version
Cook’s serves the US 1 corridor south of Bunnell: Korona, Favoretta and Dupont, every address between them, and the farms and businesses along the highway. The truck comes from our Palm Coast headquarters, about twenty to thirty minutes depending on the stop, at no extra charge for the distance and no extra charge for the hour.
That’s the whole answer. The rest of this page is what you’ll find useful once you’ve called.
Three places on one road
Korona sits on US 1 at the CR 2002 and CR 325 crossings south of Bunnell. It was settled by Polish families more than a century ago, and the white Carpenter Gothic St. Mary’s church, built in 1914 and now on the National Register, is still the landmark. Housing is scattered along the highway and the side roads: older frame and block homes, manufactured homes on acreage, and some newer houses set back in the pines.
Favoretta is the land on the west side of US 1 southwest of Korona that was once a lumber camp. Today it’s rural acreage, a few long driveways, and homes on wells and septic with plenty of room between them.
Dupont is the spot where Dupont Road meets US 1 southeast of Bunnell, toward the county line: a handful of homes, agricultural land and highway frontage.
None of the three has city water or sewer. All three are on FPL. All three are far enough from a supply house that we stock the truck for them before we leave.

What’s on these lots, and what breaks
The corridor runs mostly on package systems: the compressor, coils, blower and often the heat strips all in one cabinet on the ground beside the house, with ductwork running under a manufactured home’s floor or through a site-built home’s attic. They’re simple and serviceable, and they have their own failure patterns.
| What you notice | What it usually is on a package unit |
|---|---|
| Runs, cools a little, never catches up | Dirty coils, low charge, or underfloor duct that’s come apart |
| Loud rattle or bang on start | Fan blade, loose panel, or a compressor with a failing mount |
| Breaker trips in the afternoon | Weak capacitor, corroded contactor, compressor drawing high amps |
| Heat strips on in summer, huge FPL bill | Thermostat or control fault calling for auxiliary heat |
| Water pooling at the cabinet | Blocked drain pan, cracked pan, or a drain line that was never trapped |
| Musty smell, clammy house | Oversized unit short-cycling, wet duct under the floor |
Add well water for anything the water touches, long rural power lines that sag and surge in storms, and sand and pollen from the dirt roads, and you have the south-corridor profile.
Services we run down US 1
- Package-unit and heat-pump repair on every brand, with capacitors, contactors, motors and float switches on the truck.
- Replacement with a new package system or, where it fits, a split system or ductless setup, sized by load calculation; FPL’s high-efficiency rebate explained before you sign.
- Underfloor duct repair on manufactured homes, where a disconnected run is the most common reason a good unit can’t cool the house.
- Surge and hard-start protection for homes at the end of a long feeder.
- Maintenance twice a year, with a thorough coil cleaning for the sand and pollen the corridor throws at a ground-level cabinet.
- Commercial work for the businesses, churches and ag buildings along the highway.
Why a Palm Coast company covers this
We’re family-owned and we’re based in Flagler County, at 37 Fairmont Ln. The south corridor is part of the county, so it’s part of the route. We’d rather drive thirty minutes to Dupont than leave a homeowner there to find a contractor from across the county line. Dispatch is answered around the clock. The invoice doesn’t know what time it is.
South US 1 callers ask
Is there a mileage charge to come down to Dupont?
No. The price you’re quoted for a repair in Dupont is the price for the same repair in Palm Coast. The drive is ours.
Our Korona place has a package unit on the ground that's older than our kids. Can it be repaired or does it have to go?
Package units are repaired the same way as any other system, and parts for the common brands ride on the truck. Age alone doesn’t condemn it; a failed compressor on a fifteen-plus-year-old unit does. We’ll test, quote and tell you which side of that line you’re on.
Do you do the businesses along US 1 as well as the houses?
Yes. The shops, service businesses, churches and agricultural buildings along the corridor have rooftop and ground package units and walk-in refrigeration that we maintain and repair from the same shop.
We're on a well near Favoretta and get brown water. Should that change any equipment we buy?
Only accessories the water touches. Skip a water-fed humidifier, and if a condensate pump shares a line with anything on well water, we’ll route it separately. The air conditioner itself is unaffected.
